Alessia is an interior design expert from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

A storyteller at heart with a deep appreciation for aesthetics, Alessia studied Film and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Drawing from a diverse background spanning technology, fashion, film, marketing, and advertising, Alessia brings a multifaceted perspective to her craft. Her experiences enhance her design approach with a distinct blend of creativity and innovation.

Alessia's fascination with interiors began long before she had a place to call her own. Even in her early days, she immersed herself in the world of design, saving photos of inspiring spaces and creating mood boards as a hobby. When the opportunity came to decorate her own home, Alessia dedicated herself to learning as much as she could and absorbed content related to every facet of the design industry to further enrich her knowledge and skillset.

One evening in 2020, Alessia launched the New Mode Home Instagram account from her couch, intending to share her design journey and inspiration with others. To her delight, the account attracted followers who sought her expertise and guidance in their own spaces. 

Today, New Mode Home has evolved into a leading, full-service interior decorating and property staging firm. As the Owner & Lead Designer, Alessia leverages her expertise to help clients worldwide embark on a journey of inspired living. With a focus on timelessness, sophistication, and functionality, Alessia's designs harmonize classic elegance with the functional principles of design.

  • Our firm is based in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, so our on-site service areas include: Toronto, Simcoe County, Muskoka, and surrounding areas.

  • We like to define our design style as timeless and elegant, with European influences. By definition, we fall into the “modern classic” design style, which is a mix of "transitional" and "contemporary" styles. Our spaces are warm, storied and a little bit daring.

    With that said, we have a lot of fun working within the design styles that speak to our clients most. We love pushing boundaries, and we believe that mixing styles is often what produces the most beautiful, unique spaces, so don't hesitate to reach out to us even if your style is completely different from ours.
